Professional Attire: Modest clothing is followed in the Arabic country and the international colleagues should adhere to regulations that are followed here. Here weather is very temperate. Though it is hot here, the attire should cover the full body. When we think about the attires of a man, it is nothing but a formal business wear which can be a suit. The colors can be navy blue or the black. The shirt should be long sleeved and it should be worn underneath and should be buttoned all the way at the top. Men should never wear visible jewelry such as necklaces or chains. Women can wear the dress in a modest way and it is a must to wear sleeves till their elbow at least. The skirts should be well below the knee and it should be ideally till the ankle. Women should have their heads covered all the time. It is also inclusive of their business meetings. At least wearing scarves is expected from women.
The professional Behavior and the body language: You can remove the shoes when you enter some building or some houses. It is expected that you follow the host if you are an international professional. They feel bad if you admire the etiquette in the board room or in the house of some Arabian professional. If you admire, the professional person should offer the admired item to the colleague or the guest and if it happens then you should refuse because they feel it is impolite if you refuse. You are not supposed to cross the legs and show the soles of the feet or the shoes are not correct in a business meeting. Actually some of us are used to show the thumbs up gesture because it is a sign of positivity in most of the countries but here in Arab it might be an offensive thing and most of the professionals are concerned about this.
